Tennessee Valley

This afternoon proved I need to spend more time outdoors.  I went on a walk with two girlfriends on the Tennessee Valley trial, which I’ve known about for years, but only tried for the first time today.

It rained all day yesterday, and I was afraid today’s temperatures would make the walk uncomfortable, the trail too muddy to make the outing worth the trouble. But the sun came out first thing this morning and stayed out; and it was an easy two-mile walk down to the beach.

We stood on the beach for a few minutes, watching the tide come in and the waves explode against the rocks.  Twenty minutes or so, and we were ready to head back.

The Bay Area has so much to offer — the city, the East Bay, Marin, wine country, the beach — all within a few minute’s drive.  Yep. Today was a good reminder that I need to spend more time outdoors, and a reminder to count my blessings.
