IMG_1407We’ve been on Martha’s Vineyard for almost a week, and just as we’re starting to hit our stride, figuring out where to go and what to do, it’s time to pack up. We did get one thing right, though: The Grand Illumination, which started in 1869 and always happens the third Wednesday in August. We had to go to a birthday dinner and missed the community sing-along, but we made it to downtown in time to walk around the campground where people had hung paper lanterns along their porches of their gingerbread cottages.
